material
Our leather comes from Italian tanneries that combine innovative and sustainable production processes with Italian tanning tradition. The result is a robust and durable material that makes our bags reliable companions. We use vegetable-tanned leather as well as mineral-tanned leather from remnants of the fashion industry.

vegetable-tanned
When selecting our leather, we opted for vegetable-tanned leather. The vegetable tanning process relies on a centuries-old traditional method. In this tanning process, only plant extracts from bark, leaves, and fruits are used, which are biodegradable and have no harmful effects on the environment. The process of vegetable tanning requires more time compared to chemical processes because the natural tannins from the plant extracts take a longer period to act, allowing the leather to become durable, supple, and resilient.
Vegetable-tanned leather darkens over time and develops a unique patina.
deadstock - leftover stock from the fashion industry.
In our search for the suitable material for our products, we came across leather remnants in Italy, which were discarded due to overproduction. Originally intended for bags or accessories of seasonal collections by Italian luxury brands, the leather was never utilized in a product. We decided to repurpose the existing leather and give new life to the so-called “deadstock” leather in limited editions. It’s mineral-tanned full-grain leather, produced to the highest standards in Tuscany/Italy.

care
Since the leather is not coated with any varnish layer, it retains its natural properties. Leather is naturally not waterproof. When in contact with water, the leather can be gently dried with a cotton cloth.
Our products made from undyed leather are treated with wax by us to make them resistant to dirt and lightly water-repellent. We recommend treating the leather goods with beeswax approximately once a year, depending on usage.
